15 Dec “The Circle” at Hospice House – January Sessions
Participate in a ‘day away’ and enjoy these workshops and connections with others.
“The Circle” is a Wellness Day Program offered at Hospice House in Davis Bay, to provide opportunities for people diagnosed with a progressive life-threatening illness to gather together with others who may share similar experiences. This program focuses on enhancing well-being and developing community and connection. It offers the caregivers of participants the opportunity for a few hours of much-needed respite and peace of mind each week. It is a valuable addition to the existing suite of palliative health care services delivered on the Coast.
Each week, a selection of activities is offered, including those delivered by guest presenters. These include meditation, gentle movement, art, music, legacy projects, educational workshops and more. In addition to the scheduled activities, participants will have access to support, information and resources, as well as the opportunity for social interaction with others attending the program. A light lunch and refreshments will be served. Programming will also be made available virtually for participants who cannot attend in person.
Days and Hours of Service:
The program is offered every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Doors will be open for arrival by 9:30 am, and staff and volunteers will be available until 12:30 for participants to be picked up. Each day ends with a light lunch.
For more information, please call Hospice at 604.740.0475.
DEC 30th update: PLEASE NOTE that due to the omicron variant, we have decided to postpone the re-opening of the Circle program for at least the first two weeks. The sessions for January 4, 6, 11 and 13th are cancelled. We will revisit this in mid-January.
