The Sunshine Coast has two hospice rooms and a family room at Shorncliffe Intermediate Care Facility. These rooms provide palliative patients and their families with a place to stay at the end of life when care at home becomes too challenging.
This provides a different experience than a room in a standard hospital might. Volunteers can visit to provide companionship as needed, and nursing staff provide medical care.
Our rooms are quiet, with a shared family room between them, and they open out onto a beautiful, tranquil perennial garden tended by Hospice volunteers.
Placement in Hospice is coordinated through the Palliative Care Team at Sechelt Hospital. Contact us at Hospice for more information.
