Spirit of Clay with Bev & Ray Niebergall

Clay therapy can replace the verbal language that has been lost in some individuals.

Clay is cathartic in nature as it allows an individual to express an array of emotions. For people living with life limiting illness, clay provides creative stimulation, social interaction and helps maintain fine motor skills. The positive outcomes of clay work include promoting physical and psychological well being, enhancing opportunities for social interaction, and the ‘alchemy and magic’ that comes with the creative process.

The Circle Wellness Program

August 2022 to January 2023

The Circle is our weekly free palliative wellness program offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Hospice House in Davis Bay. The Circle offers a selection of activities including meditation, gentle movement, art, music, legacy projects, educational workshops and more.

Each session includes a light lunch and refreshments. In addition to the scheduled activities, participants have access to support, information and resources, and the opportunity to socialize. Programming can also be made available virtually from home.

Doors open at 9:30, and volunteers are available until 12:30 for participants to be picked up.

To be eligible, participants need to have received a diagnosis of a life-limiting illness, and be independent with activities of daily living (or come to the program with assistance). You must pre-register with Hospice for The Circle program.
