Douglas Morison CPA, CA

Treasurer

Doug moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2021 and resides in Halfmoon Bay. He and his wife Sara have enjoyed making new friends and experiencing the many advantages of life on the Coast over those three years. Activities keeping them busy include kayaking, hiking, pickleball and ocean swimming.

The Hospice community and its focus became of interest to Doug after Sara participated in the volunteer program earlier this year. The support work that the extended team provides fills an important gap in the community, and an opportunity for Doug to volunteer in a board capacity was of great interest.

Doug is a Chartered Professional Accountant who has worked in the public sector and industry for over forty years. Most recently, he has been working with small companies, guiding their owners through an ownership exit and towards retirement.

Doug has previous Board experience in the not-for-profit sector in the Lower Mainland and looks forward to working with the Hospice Board on its current challenges.

Coast Hospice

Providing compassionate care to individuals facing end-of-life and their families since 1987. Whether at the hospital, in your home, or in one of the four temporary hospice rooms at Silverstone Care Centre, we are here to support you. We also offer programs and services for grief support, bereavement, and advance care planning, with the assistance of trained community volunteers. In partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health, we are working towards opening the Coast’s first dedicated residential hospice in 2026.
